François Pinault meets Massimo Cacciari for the signature of the agreement about the use of Punta della Dogana.

Punta della Dogana, owned by the Italian governament, has been leased to the Municipal Authority of Venice, which
in 2006 held a competition to select a partner to create a center of contemporary art.
The competition attracted two great Venetian cultural institutions, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and Palazzo Grassi,
and on April 5, 2007,the commission was awarded to Palazzo Grassi as a 30-years renewable agreement.
Punta della Dogana will house a center of contemporary art sustained by the permanent presence of the François Pinault
Collection.
